THIS IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE CREEPY TO THE LIMIT.
So i was just reading some ones recent lj entry... lets just call him....David (omgimsoclever). And he used the quote "if you love something let it go". And in about 2.5 milliseconds that got me thinking in your honest opinion do you belive that quote or better yet should we live our life by quotes?
If you love something let it go. Now i must admit ive lived by that quote once or twice before and youve probably read about it in this veery journal. But has it worked? Well i cannot comment on one time inparticular because not enough time has passed to be 100 percent sure but in the other times that ive sucked it up and just said " if you love something let it go" well its been true to its word. it may have been hard to just let something like that go and it may have almost killed me but in the long run it made things 20 times better and i dont even want to think about what my life would be like if i hadnt. But im no expert so dont live your life by me.
To this very day i dont think that ive used another advice that has come from such a common quote. I dont think that i really trust anyother one. How could you? They are quotes. Have you ever seen the movie Harold and Maude? I doubt it, i HIGHLY doubt it But its this cute little 70s movie wheree the whole sound track id Cat Stevens. But the movie is about a 17 yr old loser boy who falls inlove with a maybe 79 yr old holocaust survivor. Its lovely....really....but a night after having akward sex with her Harlod says "Maude i love you" and do you know what Maudes response is to that...? no you dont so let me tell you she says "Thats wonderful, now go love somemore" She ends up dying later but instead of Harlod being sad he takes her advice and goes and loves some more as he dances off into the hills with cat stevens playing in the background and the credits rolling. Whats she said changed his life... and it changed mine too.
Nothing in real life is that easy to just leave someone and go galavanting into the sunset happy as Cat. But its nice to think so. Its also nice to know that once you hot bottom that only way to go is up. :)
Do you know what really bothers the heck out of me? Poeple who think that they are these amazing intillectuals. People that you just try to have a slightly normal conversation with and all they do is try to get really deep and philisophcal at the lunch table. Im not going to name names but i would like to punch them...or maybe pour some orange juice down their shirts. But honestly when im eating a delic bagle and trying to talk about an english assignment i dont need people in my face analyzing everysingle word of some stupid poem writen by some stupid dead guy. That couldnt be more annoying to me. hey maybe some people like to pretend that they are uuuber smart and know what its like to be shakespear but you what i dont and i dont like shakespear. Therefore i dont care about what he wrote and what it All ment, were in high school go write on the bathroom wall or something more fun than that.
