Thanksgiving Break is quickly fading away. It's been a crazy, hectic, yet very relaxed time.
Tuesday I drove home, even though I didn't get home until 11:00pm. Came home, caught up with the parents, slept in my bed.....so nice. Then it was up bright and early for last minute pre-Georgia errands. I bought my brother a case of beer....what I thoughtful little sister I am. The 8 hour drive to Georgia about killed me. I can't be in a car that long. I drove from Nashville to the other side of Atlanta, so that was interesting. My father and I have conflicting views on driving, like he scares me shitless and I want to be in control of the rate of speed and which lane we are in.
We arrived, goofed off with my brother, sister-in-law, two nieces and great-niece. I love being with these people. Our main form of past-time is telling stories (like about how lighting farts on fire is a romantic ploy to capture a woman's heart) and making fun of one another. We laughed so hard the entire weekend. Ate good food, watched Elf, and played with little Chloe who talks all the time. She is so effing cute. Sarah and I had fun and interesting conversations about random yet important things. It's good to have a completely objective voice on matters. Games were another past-time of the weekend. Played Trivial Pursuit 90's Trivia Edition (almost won, if it wasn't from my mother), Uno, and best of all....Taboo. Sarah and I kick ass at that one. Shopped alot...bought cute things....even some tweed, which I said I would never wear, but it is way cute. Georgia rocked. It's so awesome being somewhere where I don't have to examine how or where I fit in or belong and with people who never make me feel out of the loop, unimportant, insignificant, or something I am not.
Didn't want to leave GA, but I did want to see my crew in Owensboro. Drove most of the way back today. Had to miss an apparent interesting evening at Paul's last night. Sad. Tonight, we decided to go see X-mas lights at a local park (Al and Gabe are funny when trapped in the backseat of my car together), then appetizers and cheap drinks at Applebee's (when Rachel is drunk, she is so funny and loud), hanging out at Mary's, then Frankie's Bar with Daniel, Molly, and Nikki, attempting to play pool, learning interesting gossip, and making fun of them. Nights like these make me wonder why I wanted to leave Owensboro at all. I have such a fun time when I am here. Saw random people from years past and have a blast with all those I see on a regular basis. I would completely and utterly satisified if I didn't go back to Transy for the next couple of weeks. The more I think about Christmas break, the more excited I get about being home for a month. I need a change of scenery and a new outlook on life. Tim, Pam, and the GA crew are talking about coming up for White Trash X-mas which makes me uber-excited. Plus Jeff and Emily are getting married on New Year's Day. Also have to apartment hunt with Julie. So much to do and look forward to.
Tomorrow is a big day of going to church, putting up Christmas decorations, driving back to school...ugg. Maybe I will work in time to watch Muppet Family Christmas. It's time to ring in the season!
