Ice cream tour 2008
5:00pm - We decide to see if Windows still works on the repaired computer instead of leaving.
5:30pm - We rendezvous with Jon in the Trustee Parking lot. Darshana is smushed in the backseat between Colin and Andrew. We're finally off!
6:14pm Brusters, Webster. This place is the best bang for your buck, involving one-scoop baby cones for $1. Flavors consumed(FC): Graham Central Station, Apple Pie, Caramel Cashew
6:45pm Sugar Shack, Penfield. Definitely the strangest place, it literally was a shack next to a fancy cafe, we had to go get someone to come out back and scoop for us. She had difficulty subtracting $2.11 from $5.11, and then left us behind with only a baby monitor to make sure us customers didn't steal more ice cream, or the cash from the cash register. Julie appeared with wii-motes and then had to leave. These kiddie cones were advertised as "half scoop only!" but were really a large scoop and a half. FC: Superman(Strawberry, Banana, and some fiasco about blue moon), Birthday Cake, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough (no Cookie Dough was really present).
7:22pm Moonlight Creamery, Fairport. This small, upscale corner shop also had fancy chocolate truffles. Some were shaped like little elephants. FC: Georgia Peach, Fudge Brownie mix of some sort, Cinnamon Hazelnuts, Dinosaur (extremely blue ice cream, I don't remember...)
7:53pm Corn Hill Creamery, Corn Hill. This place won some awards, and the ice cream lived up the hype. It was my favorite, but unfortunately I can't remember the name. FC: Blue Moon (both Andrew and Colin), Orange Chocolate Chip, some kind of delicious concoction involving smashed up cookies, oreos, etc
8:20pm Chayote. This is not an ice cream place. This was dinner, a newly opened shop next to Corn Hill Creamery. It featured a large mural of two dudes chopping down a tequila plant. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I don't think Jon knew half of what he ate, but it was apparently good.
9:37pm Oriens, Greece. Apparently this is the late evening hang out for the 1) italian mafia 2)druggies 3)mafia druggies. Technically, this place served Gelato. We're unclear on the distinction between gelato and ice cream, but no one on the tour cares. It was very delicious. FC: Pistachio, Peanut Butter, Ricotta Canoli (CHEEEEEESE)
...
1:20am GLORIOUS POWER TOOLS!
