Last night, I returned to Havelock rather late and altogether wiped out.

You are very welcome. I just know how much it can help to know there is someone who understands and appreciates.

I'm really surprised you didn't die laughing seeing me babble like a mad thing. I was sooooo sure it was Christie that Farf had. I'm still not sure about Ken's bugnucks but it's not like you to ignore or forget a key detail so I figure I had it wrong the first time around. But oh my god when the second chapter ended I was nearly raving, not at you, but myself because I should have known that your cliffhangers would drive me crazy with the waiting.

I know I did a lot more ranting at the two older Weiss and I'm really worried about Ken's mental state. Like I said it's too bad he couldn't be a mind reader for like 2 minutes there after talking to Yohji. It would have made him feel better. For the time being I've got this image of Yohji with dawning horror on his face switching directions and running pell mell for Kenken. But who will get there first???? ^_________^

I have so missed reading your stories 'for the first time' when the emotional level is new and every breath hangs on the next sentence coming up. And after Sokoke I think I'll keep my favorite OCs to myself thank you very much. LOL

I actually laughed some while reading your comments at MM.org, Cat, but mostly I was too busy being thrilled that you cared so damned much about the Weiss boys in the story. Only someone who has agreed to willingly suspend disbelief and go on the same journey with my muses could possibly feel as strongly as you do. {contented smile} It's wonderful.

I loved your theory that Farf had killed "Christie"! One version of that part of the story had the actual dialogue from the "headset chatter" between the Weiss boys, but it got long-winded and accomplished very little. Hence, the edited version took all of that out and left them temporarily distracted. But then Abyssinian bitched them out---did you catch the implication that he thinks of them as "underlings"? idiotic, ne?---and off they went!

Apologies to Farfarello, but it was important that Aya be the one to kill our villain for the simple fact that it would NOT grant him the peace that he thought it would. Like many men, he preferred to think he could fight an external battle when it was really what was happening inside that was the problem. Bitchslap to the head, Abyssinian!

{nods firmly, then continues}

As for Kenken's mental state, you are quite right to worry! He has indeed forgotten that his bugnuks are jammed when the adrenaline rush gets the better of him and he starts wishing for a fight. Foolish yet darling boy.

In the course of this one hectic day, he's had too much sex, too little food---and drink!---, too much heartache, and far too little honest communication from either of his intimate partners! Blame virtually ALL of that on Kase. If he hadn't messed with Ken's head while underage and impressionable, he'd never have put up with this BS.

As for Yohji, oh my. He's in trouble, isn't he?

The image you have of the moment he realizes his error is precisely correct but add to it the fact that he was being Mr. Tactically Brilliant mid-chapter 2 and thought he could protect Ken by getting to Omi first. Ha! Poor thing. How much guilt can one pair of navy blue clad shoulders bear? The answer, and what he decides to do about it later, boggles the mind.

The wild card remains the ice cold Abyssinian, though. Hmmm... between his frigid outer facade and utter inner confusion, how many more books will it take to strip him down to humanity once more?

{tiny tired laugh of the evil variety and then a smile}

I'm touched that you're enjoying the "thrill of discovery" with this arc. Hopefully there are twists you weren't expecting that can still surprise you and I dare say some of the characterizations ought to seem novel. I worked really hard to reimagine several of these guys as individuals and then to move those changes into their interpersonal interactions. This was especially true of Schwarz.

I've barely scratched the surface on that front, but perhaps they'll grow on you, too.

{exhausted, the llama huggles his favorite feline friend and then goes off to bed}

You know it's easy to fall into the world of a good writer, they suck you in, they make sure there are as few distractions to draw you out as they can. You do an awesome job with that. You are very good at making sure we are emotionally absorbed in the characters and the story from the moment we start.

Ah so they did notice and think about it, it just ended up on the cutting room floor. LOL I didn't think of it that way, but it is one of the ways his dictatorial attitude during missions could come across. If the others ever start noticing he could be in trouble.

Okay I can see that and what he was thinking. You are right the momentary satisfaction of taking Christie down will not relieve angst Aya is feeling over the deaths caused. But he keeps trying.

So I was right about the bugnucks. That is scary since he's facing Farf. And of course we've got Schu and Crawford bearing down on his position to. Uhm yeah threesome coming up, near future, Kenken won't be spending the next several weeks recuperating in the hospital.... Right? -_-;;;

And I can sooo see Yohji taking all the guilt on himself if Ken is hurt. Aya will too he just won't show it, or worse he actually won't feel any guilt because he's not thinking and will blame it all on Ken for being reckless or something.

I am seeing changes especially with Schu at the moment, Ken too, but I could see the difference pretty quickly there and you explained it well. I am looking forward to seeing how the boys continue to change and grow in the rest of the books.

Be careful we are on my favorite topic right now, story and character discussion. Don't feel you have to answer, I'll carry on all on my own. LOL
