Eeek. I have to make time tomorrow to read through the new postings! I can relate to the finding of small mistakes - I am one of those who, when my mind is made up, simply cannot rest until I fix whatever needs fixing.
You know, with the weather you're having, I'm thinking you would be not only comfortable, but quite the dashing fellow in this little number.

::nods:: Nowadays we have the mass-produced barongs with machine embroidery - but for the truly formal occasions, purists insist on the embroidery being done by hand, as it was for generations. It still is, in one particular province about two hours drive from Manila.
As for the formal gowns...::fans self::...hoyay, those things could hold their own with anything overseas designers could come up with. Especially the terno, which our former first lady Imelda Marcos made (in)famous. I cannot believe that poor dress was turned into a fashion outcast for the longest time after the Marcoses were deposed. It seemed so silly to me for high society to turn their backs on what is our national couture heritage...but that's been fixed in the recent decade, thank goodness.

I remember all the fuss over the Marcoses and their indulgent lifestyles. Honestly, though, why throw out the fashion baby with the political bath water? It makes no sense.
Then again, considering what poor Aya is wearing in "Feeling Like a Fool", who am I to talk about fashion?

I'm glad that I am not alone in the often obsessive pursuit of perfection. It was really tough to just go get some sleep rather than try to fix those errors and possibly screw something else up in the process. {long sigh}
As for that shirt, wow! That was really different from anything we see in the States. The funny thing was, the moment I saw it, my muses started buzzing around wondering which bishie to dress up in one. Hmmmm.... I'll have to put that on their list of things to work into a fic someday. ^_^
{adds the lightning icon since THAT is what it took to bring the heat indices down a little}
