Thanks to waking up atypically early due to Marine Corps air maneuvers, I got to actually post a chapter of "Feeling Like a Fool" before I head out today. Good.
This is, of course, book 2 of the Realizations Arc. It's a slow start to an angst-laden piece, but trust me. To appreciate what's coming later, you need all of this Ken-introspection first. To make it even easier to enjoy,
here's a link straight to it. In case you're curious, here's the teaser for the entire story plus the chapter title and its summary:
Ken continues to worry and Yohji’s concerns deepen before duty calls. Under the cover of night, Aya stakes his claim again, but will there be time to enjoy the afterglow?
Chapter 1: Sorrowful Thoughts While Cooking
While working on what he hopes will be a meal worth coming home for, Ken thinks long and hard about his relationships with Aya and Yohji before taking an unexpected and painful look at his own tortured past.
{winces, then sighs}
Here we go again.
As promised warned previously, the lighter mood of the first book is now a thing of the past. Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times, kiddies. It's going to get bumpy from here on out!
For a strange little teaser for chapter 2,
check this out. Um, but don't do it while you're eating. What relevance this holds for the world of Weiss will hopefully be revealed sometime soon.
One little thing that I wanted to mention is about my stories all being designated AU-OOC. The [Alternate Universe-Out Of Character] label was added to all of my fics a long time ago simply because, IMHO, anyone who is not the series creator can not possibly write truly "original universe, in character" work.
After all, Koyasu-sama himself might take offense if he knew how I'm portraying poor Aya in this arc. I can well imagine his response: "One of my super-sexy characters is a [edited to prevent spoilers]?!? You're insane, old man!" He would then bitch-slap me into next week, most likely.
Also, in the Realizations Arc, I've been spending a fair amount of time describing the layout of the entire building that comprises the Koneko.
This is mostly because I want everyone to have a 3-D image in mind as the action plays out. Oh, and just so you know, yes, this is almost ALL canon.
Yup, you heard me "canon" as in it's taken straight from the original designs as shown in the delightful Weiss Kreuz: Animedia Special Gakken Mook. If you don't have a copy, consider picking it up. It's worth the price of admission just for the 2-page, naked bishounen "Schicksal" illustration if nothing else.
{noting that eye candy credit goes to
star_of_heaven, the llama runs off to the DHoC for another weekend of "fun" -_-;;}
