when i start introducing my friends to people they've met a thousand times
& when i repeat the last thing you said in my head for hours
& when i scramble up all the words in my last sentence to figure out how many different combinations there are
& when i can't remember if you asked how i was, or if i asked how you were
& when i step outside & can't remember the last time the sun was so bright
& when i turn my music up so loud it's the only thing i can feel
& when i try to read something but my eyes can't seem to focus
& when i think so hard for so long but can never figure out what day or time it is
& when i can't figure out what someone is saying to me even if i hear the same thing everyday
& when i chain smoke so many cigarettes that i can't even breathe
& when i get so dizzy that im inches from the ground
& when i start to talk & never finish because the words just wont come out right
& when i just stand there staring at the person inches from my face
& when i do things repetitively for so long that i just stop moving
& when i figure out that my mind is so blank
& when i think i've heard every song at least 10 times before
& when i start to think every human being looks familiar
& when i stand staring for hours at things i see everyday
& when i stand staring at the mirror for hours because i can't figure out who i am looking at
i think it's time i got some sleep.
