We are on day 9 of the hunt for the sun, with no apparent satisfaction in sight.
I suppose the difference between my early spring memory of Prague and this gloomy, slipperysnowy version is...well, two months. I'll tell everyone how it looks in April.
Our first week of intense coursework is behind us and we've both taught two half-hour lessons to groups of truly lovely, interesting (and interested) people. The classes have been mostly filled with Czechs, though the odd Central Asian of former Soviet heritage has popped up from time to time.
Word on the street is that the course will only get more intense as we get further along, a thought which scares the bejeezus out of us.
Today has been the first day since our arrival that we've been able to walk around the city and explore without either jet lag or looming homework to distract us. Thus, we finally got a good look at Prague castle this afternoon, before which we took a stroll through the old Jewish quarter and along the river to the obnoxiously overtouristed Charles Bridge.
Now it's dark again and bloody freezing and we've only got another 15 hours or so until we're back in that damn classroom! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAargh! Only three weeks to go....
