See I told you I wouldn't update without having the luxury of time to at my call centre job :P Let's have a look at my May so far...
Social highlights
Well I've seen my usual crew once a week or so -
isi13,
eviltomato and
crazycatgirl I've had coffee with
snuck,
fleen and T.
Jacki & Nick, Jarrod & Kat and Matthew & I went to Himalayan Cafe in New Farm on a Sunday night. We chose the meat banquet and we gorged ourselves stupid! It was a good night of conversation and tasty food - such a variety of entree food as well yummy mains.
The girls (S. and C.), their partners and I (M had tooth taken out the night before) went to Sakura Japanese Restaurant in Highgate Hill on a Sat night for S.'s b'day. The food was good but I think the money went towards the novelty of it. They didn't handle the Sat night crowd too well but food was yummy (with lots of vege options).
I also checked out the
Collusion concert "Illuminations" at St Mary's church in Kang. Pt. They played Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time which is a great contemporary piece and doesn't sound that "weird" to me anymore. Wonderful stuff.
I attended Amanda's b'day party and hung out with
sirkahless, Lani,
pussindocs,
djet, ate penis cake (very tasty, Jess! sweeter than penis in general :P) and said hi to those of Amanda's friends I knew and even got a dance in with the b'day girl :)
I saw my fam for Mother's Day. Mum had vouchers for Hungry Jack's so we used them and told her not to dine in for the shame of taking your mother out to HJ's for lunch! *how embarrassing*
I saw G. who was visiting from Melb and her little boy A. Luckily he had a little nap so G. and I had a great chat about life and love. When A. woke up, we took him to the park so I spent a little time getting to know him, too.
I also caught up with J. & G. and we went to see the Amadeus play as part of the 4MBS Festival of Classics. Most of us might know the movie but it originated as a play so we knew the story was good and most pleasantly surprised that it was well acted and very enjoyable. It was held in the Grand Masonic Hall so it was interesting to be in there, too.
Work's been very busy and May always culminates with our major concert at QPAC which will be happening tomorrow at 2pm. Mozart in the Middle will feature our orchestra playing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto (which was in the Amadeus movie) as well as Shostakovich's Festive Overture and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 so grab a ticket from Qtix at QPAC for $16.50/11.50 if you feel like getting some extra culture into your life.
It's been a bit stressful at work but it's all under control and I've had a relaxing weekend so far. I've even managed to compose a little now that I have 2 whole days allocated to it.
I've also been to community orchestra rehearsals and I've been loving it; even practising a little and done a bit of yoga. Need more exercise!
Today I went to see J. and her little son C. - always nice to have a cuppa with them. And tonight I get the house to myself!!!
