My hair was fading out, so I redyed it this weekend. It's kind of an eggplant purplish colour (which doesn't really show up much in the pic, but does more in naturall ighting; the pic is ok for a "here I am today" selfie). The dye is dark like my own hair is, so maybe I won't have to redye for a while again now. Just keep it trimmed up short.
Finally got the arms and hands finished for the Ruthie doll. Now onto the legs, and then assembling all the parts together. This was a major accomplishment for the weekend; did a lot of sewing on Saturday. Also got the doll skin stretched over the torso and arms, so all finished up with that. *Shakes head* I never get anything right on the first try. But it's all good eventually.
Got the Happy Puppy shorts and Newton shoes I'd ordered. I think the 8.5 men's shoes are going to work out fitting fine, so that was a good cheap deal. And the shorts are very comfy indeed. Not the most flattering on my big ass, but very comfortable. It might be worth it to get a second pair and be all set for summer exercising.
Should proabably get back to crafting and lay out the doll's leg patterns to cut and sew. Like the arms are jointed at the elbow, the legs will be jointed at hip and knee so Ruthie can sit easily. I have a couple more hours before I have to get ready for the "Empty Bowl" event and the Doll Club meeting. (rescheduled photo shoot, just too busy today, and I want to wait until I get the new other clothes I ordered to possibly wear for pics.)
Later: have leg pattern pieces cut and sewing started! And got them finished in the evening. Final assembly is all that is left, but it's got to be done well so the doll is sturdy enough. Need to keep an eye out for a big box to pack her in to ship. Feels good to have the finish in sight of this big project, and then on to doll commission number 2!
