So the retreat went well enough. And I just returned from Washington, DC yesterday.
DC was amazing. Cold, but amazing. I could have wondered around the American History Smithsonian forever. The exhibits on the American Presidents were so fascinating, and they had a new exhibit on America At War - basically every war since The Revolution through now. All in all, I got to see the Lincoln Memorial, which Matt spit on twice, the Washington Monument (as close as I could get, since it is currently closed), the White House during the day and at night - both times of which we spotted the snipers, the Department of Justice, the Department of the Interior, basically all the Departments..., the Smithsonian American History and the Natural History, the Declaration of Independance, the Constitution & the Bill of Rights. We were going to hit up the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum as well as head over to Arlington Cemetary and see Lee's house, but I felt too crappy.
We celebrated my birthday at the Capitol Hill Pub & Brewery. It was really nice.
Mereike (damn cat) ate one of my prescription pills this morning (actually, she more chewed on one) and after frantic calls to the vet, I had to take her in. Stupid cat is perfectly fine, but I was able to get some different food from the vet that we can feed her 30% more of a day, so that will hopefully cut out the 5am wakeups from a meowing, hungry cat.
