What colour is it? How many gears has it got?

Yeesh, lots of things. One at a time I suppose.

On Wednesday we ended up going to the Hadouken! gig. Not by choice mind. New rave TERRIFIES ME. Emos with glowsticks? Eep. Though Cyberdog are presumably making a bundle off the little bastards, as they graduate from overpriced overbranded girl trousers and pink belts to overpriced overbranded UV tat. I am never going near a glowstick again. To be honest the main thing that struck me about the gig was the speed at which music fads seem to cycle these days. All the stuff I was into when I was 'that age' still exists now, ya know, metal, goth, even grunge lasted a while. But lately we've been piling through genres - look at nu metal, emo, and now new rave? Presumably this is in part due to the fact that the world revolves around the internet a lot more now, things don't take so long to filter through. Just means in a musical sense at least I'm getting old a lot faster. With regards the actual gig, the audience were terrifying (emos really can't dance, though just the idea of a circle pit composed of emos still makes me chuckle), and the music was alright, but has massively been done before. Think Senser style with a bit of added electro and occasional emoish vocal, with maybe a standard indie beat thrown in once in a while.

The new Blind Melon stuff has bothered me greatly. I'd heard talk of them reforming with a new singer, but rather hoped the idea would disappear. It hasn't. The guy they've got singing, is okay I suppose, can't really hold the high stuff well though. And obviously, he's just not Shannon. The track that's up on Youtube is pretty mediocre, to be honest. They should have changed the name. I don't want them ruining some of my favourite songs of all time. But god damn it, I'd still sell everything I own just to see them live, even with Travis instead of Shannon, and even if it ruins everything.

This weekend's been pretty nice. We had an uber decadent evening on Saturday - ending in us sat in the park in Chorlton drinking champagne and whiskey with Claire and Tyagi who was down from Glasgow. Also, my long awaited Wii has been unforgotten about, I shall be making a tit out of myself and spraining my wrist in new and interesting ways before you know it!

Ah yes, Download. Well, it was a pretty good weekend, aside from some low points. Both me and Alex just about lost our voices from shouting Dave, we never found the guy who scrawled his name on the toilet wall in shit, though we did find a Jeff. Probably for the best that you can't see his face really.

And I recall that it was very important that I take a photo of this guy but don't recall why now, but felt I'd include him anyway. Perhaps his name was Dave.

We camped next to a pile of shit, it was loverly (yes I know it's not really shit, before anyone gets all smart arsed at me).

I was obsessing over the Dunlop bridge because I was drunk. In fact, I only took about 8 photos all weekend, and four of them were of the Dunlop bridge.

And, ya know, good handprint.

I'd actually write something about emo bashing, music, navy boys (oo er) and cancer giving quantities of Buckfast but I cannae be arsed. And none of you fuckers care really anyway, which is convenient.
