Defending my shows

I've been watching The Tudors (costume drama porn) and Josh mocks me for it. Well, okay, it's mock-worthy, whatever.

But when King Henry started desperately saying that he had no heir, Josh started laughing from the other room. "Oh, I'm 19! I have no son! Wah wah!"

I assume that the beginning, at least, of The Tudors is set in 1526. The Tudors does move a lot quicker than real life (it doesn't take 6 years for him to marry Anne Boleyn, for example), but it starts at the same place.

Historical Reality vs. Actors Ages
Queen Catherine - 41 vs. 42 (didn't age her, really)
Anne Boleyn - 25 vs. 25 (she was pretty old in reality, wasn't she?)
King Henry - 35 vs. 30 (so, yes, they youthened him - but not to 19, as Josh mocked.)

In reality, Catherine and Henry had been married 17 years before he met Anne Boleyn - married when Catherine was 24 and Henry was 18. Even if actor Henry had married when he was 18, they would have been married 12 years with only one daughter. And he has a wife in her 40s. I'd be worried about how many sons were left to be born, too.
