Only been back from Cincinnati for a week, and I’m already planning my next vacation. Disneyland, for Gay Days, at the end of September. We took a pass on Gay Days last year to go to Universal Studios instead and we really missed it. This year, we’ve agreed that we’re going to make the most of it, going to both the parties and taking part in some of the group activities. (But not the scavenger hunt. We learned our lesson two years ago. Even for my Disney-oreinted friend, it was too difficult, and we didn’t even finish.)
My Disney friend, Robin, has been doing all the planning herself so far because I’ve been all caught up in Cincy prep, but now I’m getting caught up in it too. We’ve reserved a car service to take us from Airport to Disneyland and back again. It’s nicer than a cab, far less annoying than the shuttle, cheaper than renting a car that will just sit in the parking lot most of the time, and safer than Robin’s driving. I’ve also been looking for vegetarian food options at Disneyland, because most of the previous years I’ve muddled through with carbs and cheese and the occasional salad. This year I’m determined to go with some lunch and dinner options in mind in advance. And I’m making reservations at Blue Bayou, because cheesy as it is, I love that place.
The last time we went, we rocked our, “What happens in Anaheim…Stays in Anaheim.” t-shirts, which were really popular. I don’t know what we’re doing this year. We’ve talked about shirts that say, “I don’t play for the other team, but I am a cheerleader.” I’ll leave that up to Robin. My relationship with her is sort of the opposite of mine with the HLP. The HLP pretty much goes along with whatever I want (sometimes to my frustration), and I pretty much go along with whatever Robin wants (she seems fine with it).
I can’t wait!
Oh, and I think I'm getting my Tardis tattoo this weekend.
