Unexpected Kane is the Best Kane
I have spent a lot of time bitching about the Christian Kane fangirls. We were surprised to learn that he’s back in Portland this weekend, at the Oregon State Fair today (which we’ll miss) and then at Duke’s on Sunday. My first thought was, “Yay! Kane!” My second thought was “Oh, crap…Kane fangirls.” A serious sense of dread crawled over me, and that’s just not right. These concerts are supposed to be fun, and somewhere along the way they became a chore.
So, I’m going to try to adjust my attitude. Fuck those fangirls. They want to shove their way in first and bully people away from the stage, then they can have it. I don’t need to be looking up the band’s noses to enjoy the show. I am going to try not to dwell on their drama, past or present. (Or their unfortunate choice of clothing…*shudders*…that will be harder.) I am going to focus on the reason I’m there, which is to enjoy the music and soak in the loud, rocking, sometimes drunken spectacle that is Kane.
