Well, I'm starting to pull a "Jen" by not updating in awhile! (Thanks for updating by the way Jen!). It feels like lots has happened since my last LJ entry. Lets see, where to begin?
Let's start with the "Barefoot Hotties" part. :) Went to see Sister Hazel with Jen, Meredith, and Heather this weekend and it ROCKED. I am officially in love
with Drew Copeland... I believe I also said this about Matt Nathanson.... maybe I need to have a threesome or something.... or, on second thought, a foursome, I should include my husband in the festivities. :) Ok, back on topic, I really had no idea what to expect in seeing this band. I only remember them from college, and then they were way overplayed, so they annoyed me a bit. After waiting in line for like 2 hours, Heather and I unknowingly got the best spots in the house. Right smack in front of Mr. Barefoot Hottie Himself; Drew Copeland (sigh). The band as a whole was incredible, and I had such a blast hanging out with my new found friends.
I suppose I won't even mention the incredibly annoying dinner with dumbass waiters and asshole managers, I hope that place catches fire, maybe then they could GRILL their shrimp over the open flame.
Saturday I came home exhausted and just wanted to nap the day away. Unfortunatley, Lee was nailing away on the door, so my napping wasn't all I hoped it would be. Oh well. Sunday we spent the evening at the in-laws and going over insurance for the open enrollment, your jealous, I know, my life is fascinating. There's something oddly grown up about trying to plan insurance to work for future maternity leave (not the near future for anyone who's wondering). It's exciting in a way.
This week has been a strain with my kids. Don't know if I'm overly grumpy, or they are overly talkative, but one way or the other, I decided to take a "mental health day" tomorrow. This is something I have never done in my 2 1/2 years of working, so I feel I've earned it. I am spending the day running errands, cleaning, doing laundry and sleeping in. My parents are coming this weekend, so it'll be nice to have things actually in order before they get here.
Friday is the field trip, actually pretty excited about that. It should be fun, plus I can basically hang out with Jen most the day which will be nice!
Boy, am I rambling or what? Heather and I were going to go to the gym tonight but I decided I felt much more like being outside than on a treadmill in a sweaty gym. So she came over and we walked around the neighborhood for about an hour. Just what I needed! (I'm now singing the Sister Hazel song of that in my head:)
Ok, I suppose that is my updte for now, ya'll have a marvelous time at work tomorrow. Jen I will get us spectacular things for the book (within budget of course),and I'll see ya on Thursday!
Have a great night and a pleasant tomorrow.
