Less than 2 Months to the Wedding...

Hey Journal,

Sorry I neglected to write lately. I've been swamped with my new responsibilities at work and re-adjusting my budget for home life compared to travel. The pay has definitely helped me address my debt and other issues in my budget, but I have two more things to purchase before I can focus totally on my debt: Tara's wedding ring and our honeymoon flight.

I know what the ring will cost, and I'm hoping this upcoming paycheck I can purchase it and then focus on the honeymoon flight to Aruba. Continental has cut back their Aruba routes, so we're looking at American Airlines taking us from Houston or Dallas to Aruba. Delta has some flights, but they're about 300 bucks per person higher than American. I'm hoping we can purchase them after the wedding with our combined savings and gifts, otherwise I may have to put some of it on a card in the interim.

Another thing I've been trying to focus upon is a car for Tara. Her 1994 Saab has seen better days, and cannot make it outside of the state. We're hoping to find a sensible car under 18K, and trying to squeeze out some of my debt to make room in our single budget for a good car. If necessary, we'll have to trim back on our grocery expenses and luxuries such as television. We found a wonderful Saab for 13K, but I don't have the cash or financing for it now, but if we do see it still available in July, I plan on snatching it up for my darling. She's reading this journal, so the cat is out of the bag.

Also, a puppy has come to mind, I'm hoping that we can afford a good puppy and keep it safe and happy.

I'm taking the responsibilities of a 10+ year person at HP, so its very intimidating, but I think as I grow into this role I will be successful and make up for my past mistakes in the last job. I feel so less stressed, more able to let my mind work without the overlooking constraint of impatience and underbudget assets. Plus, I get to be home and spend time with Tara as she is transitioning to married life and going to continue her education. I'm hoping that we can make it during this starting time in our marriage to be.

I'm heading up there later in June, then in July for the big dance. I hope to write more soon, and the workouts have been paying dividends, so I can catch up to my wonderful fiance who is in great shape!

Sincerely,
Eric
