Puppets

Mar 31, 2007 14:02

R. woke up today and decided to create bag puppets (she and I have never done this together). She made puppet after puppet, about 10 in all, and then announced that she wanted to give them all away.

We walked to the main street near our house, and she boldly went up to random people and gave away her puppets -- at the bakery, the cafe, the video store, and a few to various passers-by.  I'm not sure when I've seen anything so beautiful as my kid going up to strangers (all adults) and offering them a puppet.  At first they would look surprised, then delighted, often asking if she was giving them away or selling them.  Each one choose a puppet, put it on their hand and they (the puppet and the adult) would have a conversation with R. for a few minutes, all three (puppet, adult, and R.) laughing with delight.  Along with the puppet everyone also got some sourgrass (yellow flowers in picture).

Lovely morning all around.
