My state of health and ketogenesis

My first check up was last week.  I got to show off the cool app (Carb Diet) that I use to track my daily intake. So much easier than the paper forms they gave me!  There are others available. What I like about this one is that it also tracks water (very important for me) and I can custom edit/add in stuff that I make as regular items once I go ( Read more... )

Terrific blood pressure and heart rate stats. You're getting down into my range. Next we'll have you doing endurance sports cause they feel good.

I take lots of Vitamin D too. Helps with our lack of sunlight. Do you take fish oil too? Does that count for something?

Hugs and cheers for you!

Thanks! I'm a little sceptical about every getting into endurance stuff for fun -- even when I was a skinny thing at 110lbs, and running 6 miles a day, it was never fun. It was blind determination.

I don't take fish oil. If I do, I need to count it as part of my daily intake which just seemed meh. I was on 3,000 whatevers of vitamin D. Surprised to go up to 5,000.

No, not running. Biking! Glorious freedom on a bike!

I had my vitamin D cranked up to 5,000 for a while--finally it sunk in and I'm back down to 1500. So whatever that's worth.

Good job you.

This is all really impressive, Elizabeth. You seem to be doing so well with this new diet!

Have you ever tried pork rinds? I'm not big on them, but Paul likes them, and they have 0 carbs (but tons of sodium). Just a thought.

FWIW, I take 3000 IUs of Vitamin D3 a day, and have for years. I had a massive deficiency identified about 6 years ago, and that's the dose it takes to keep me in the normal range.

Pork rinds! What a great idea! If nothing else, it will appall Mark which is always good fun. :) I need to check spam as well. I love spam. Especially fried. At last, I get to eat all the naughty foods of my childhood!

I've been taking 3,000, now it's up to 5,000. Surprised me. Maybe I'm just absorbent or something. Or a vampire. :)

I hope so too. There are people who claim to feel so much better for it. I don't notice a bit of difference. I've gone from 1,000 a day, to 3,000 a day to now 5,000 a day. I feel like a sponge.
