So here's what I did from July 3 to 18 Aug. The year was 2007. The United States Army had decided that officers from West Point were lagging behind the other commissioning sources in knowing what the real world is like, so they decided to implement a means to level the playing field, and get all officers up to speed! Actually, it had more to do with a few weak ROTC programs and direct commissions spoiling it for everyone, but anyway, they threw all commissioning sources and branches together to learn to drill, march, shoot, move, communicate, ruck, operate in a FOB, and so on and so forth. Oh! And there were combatives! :)
I started off the day before I graduated, to check to see if I could leave my bags in my room over my break to keep the crap I'd have to fly home down. As it worked out, I took everything with me in a giant duffel and an A-bag, and it sucked. Seriously would like to keep doing this but I must sleep, 0600 weapons draw and all. More to follow.
