Back from
Tinitus - The Scandinavias premier electronic music show. I ordered tickets for 21 Finns and organised the trip for 8. I counted the total of 32 Finns used the same boat and over 40 Finns were on the partyplace. That's about the statistics. Let's get into the story and the pictures.
The ferry was adorable Viking Gabriella loaded with rednecks. The first time I almost get into a fight was when I queued the tickets for our group. The quite short guy the back of me told almost continuously he don't like a) treehuggers b) animal activists and c) gays until he was starting to talk about my shoes and I realised he was already talking about me all the time. Obviously he didn't like my outfit, but was unable to categorise me. Then he said "hello" me and put hand on my shoulder and then I had to tell he shouldn't touch me. Then he challenged me to a fight, but I don't do those things and that had to repeated almost ten times to that gentleman.
So there was actually not an option to be sober on the trip, and the very first thing was to get into a bar. After the ferry was made comfortable by drunkness, the party continued on the cabins, and after that on the disco. I didn't remember much, but again the rednecks didn't like my outfit and pushed me over on the dance floor. There was not much need for a force as I was in a pretty unbalanced condition at that stage. Then we went again to the cabins until 6 am, and sorry again Marja about waken you up at 5 am :D
The ferry arrived to Stockholm at 09.40 am, so there was not terribly much sleep. Checked in to a hotel and we got our room immediately and got some sleep.
m1kolas and
kaimaani tired, yet.
Korho and me happily with cameras.
Annina was happy when
kaimaani won a trip from a music contest.
scary_aunty, Heidi and Hanna not consuming alcohol on the ferry, because that was restricted.
As the previous day was filled with a booze, I was not really keen to drink at all on the club. I just ordered a wok, coke and water and enjoyed the bands totally sober. I don't smoke, and either the Swedes do that in the bar anymore. All the smoking was done outside on the balcony, and that was not too warm place to stay for a long time.
The first band I saw was
Agonoize. I was told they are quite a humorous band, but I really did like their show as it was theatrical more than just posing and looking cool. The gig started three times, as on the first time they didn't hear all the instruments on the monitors and then the keyboard stand was broken down. Luckily they had tools on the stage and the all were fixed easily.
The second band was quite awaited
Rotersand, and again I liked the singer doing very odd movements on the stage, but that was the whole show without anything earth shaking tricks really.
The next band was Icon of Coil singer sideproject
Combichrist. Quality stuff and I danced my ass off there, and I did need to cool down at the balcony after that with my pretty pink tie loosen. I was surrounded by steam there until I was cool enough to get inside again.
Keyboard virtuoso
Howard Jones was doing a really impressing show. Me and Jouni worshipped his futuristic keyboard stands with very cool fluorescent lamps attached. He is a relly good performer and didn't look aged at all, although he might be few years older than me.
I popped also in to Bunker Stage to see Thomas P. Heckmann doing a laptop show. He was playing decent stuff, but actually I don't like the shows with just a laptop. There was also a hot dancer on the stage too, but she was on the break at the moment I was looking them. There was nothing to see, so I continued my way.
I've already seen
Die Krupps on Tampere quite a few years ago when they were in their heavymetal phase. Now they are back and doing more electronic stuff and that show really did its job for me. The singer was cut his hair back to short and didn't have a beard anymore looking just like on the old days. I knew immediately it will be a great show and it was. They played almost the all old hit songs including even Volle Kraft Voraus. I had to open few buttons from my shirt again and remove my tie completely.
I was already exhausted when the last performer
Apoptygma Berzerk started to play, but that didn't stop me to dance with their songs. Stephan is not too talented singer, but the songs from the latest album were amazingly on the key. However I didn't like the new songs too much and that was a really good time to rest. They were doing a really good show and my friends who were seen them before were positively surprised about the gig.
After that we got into the epilepsy room as we called the room with a DJ. I was pleased with Front Line Assembly and Front 242 Headhunter in the set, and I had nothing left of my coolness, but sweaty sweetness instead.
Our Kärlekparaden was not really a success, as we had total of four persons involved. Kärlekparaden means a portable loudspeakers, pre-made mixtape, booze and terrible amount of walking around a city. Of course the obligatory Seven-Eleven was included on the trip to get the carbohydrates to the feet. I started to drink Hot'n'Sweet Salmiakki-Vodka there and got a decent drunk before we arrived to the hotel at 5am.

Those receptionists at the hotel didn't want to tell explicitely couldn't the check-out time to be extended from 12 o'clock, so that's the time we left the rooms. Couple of us left the city by a plane, but I walked around a city trying to find something to buy, but didn't find anything interesting.
We left the city at 5pm by Viking Mariella and I immediately got my drunkness to the level to be expected on the ferry. Unluckily I got all my drinks gone pretty soon, and I started to sleep when our disco cabin visitors did leave to the official disco on the ferry. I got a semi decent sleep until we arrived to the Helsinki at 10am.
