The Dells!

Also, a question for anyone who might know (maybe for howlin_wolf_66 since he seems to be the only one who reads me who's much into Northern Soul)?

Anyway, first, an absolute cracker from The Dells. They sound in this song to me like a (black) soulful version of The Zombies here:

So, the question: You may notice at times, at the end of the song, that the chorus goes like this:
(There is)
You!
(There is)
And me!
(There is)
And hope!
(There is)
Keep the faith, baby!

What I'm wondering is, what is the relationship between Northern Soul and the phrase "keep the faith"? This is, I think, the first NS song I've discovered where the phrase has actually been in the lyrics, but of course if you peek around the internet at NS sites (not to mention my icon for this post), you see it all over the place in relation to the music.

So, anyone know why that is? Google's failing me so far.

northern soul, music, youtube, ask the audience
