Sens-Panthers.

This game is not televised - not in the conventional way, at least - so on Centre Ice tonight, they have the Panthers' in-arena video feed combined with an audio feed from the Panthers' radio broadcast.

This whole production is adorable and hilarious. Like watching a Rogers Community TV production of Ottawa Wheels/Loggers roller hockey circa-1996.

We get to see the ads that air in the arena, and the kiss-cam and everything! The first intermission is starting now, and I'm going to be able to watch little kids on the big ice. (Oh, but in Florida, they have the kids do a shootout. Interesting - every other hockey game I've seen where they've done this, it's been about five minutes of uninterrupted shinny.)

I'm going to leave open the possibility of returning to this post to comment on more aspects of this telecast as the night progresses.

See? Here we go. Apparently also on the agenda for the intermission: a dance routine by the Red Line Lady Panthers.

One thing I hadn't thought about at the outset: Almost no highlights of anything good that the Senators do.

On Daugavins' goal in the second just now, the Panthers radio guy almost spit out the call. You could tell he did not like what just happened. "Here's Daugavins in front and he... scores."

And on that note, he's saying "Daugavins" wrong.
