Everybody groove to the music and do what you like to

Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

So last night Roli and I went to see Talib Kweli "and friends" at Brooklyn Bowl. It was slated to start at 9, wound up starting around... 11:30, right, Ro? Didn't end 'til 2 and I got home at about 3, 3:30. Only got 3 or less hours of sleep before having to get up to get ready for work... And I do not regret one minute of it.

Ro will prolly post pics eventually (if he hasn't already). Excluding MC Hamburger (lol!!), the show was beyond on point. Ro and I were pondering who the "friends" would be. We guessed all kinds of people: Mos, Jay Electronica, Gucci Mane (and we both vowed to revolt if it was him). It turned out to be Rockness Monsta from Heltah Skeltah, Smif N Wessun, Black Moon and Mr. Mann from Da Bush Babees.

...What?!

Ro and I were losing it when he performed The Love Song. lol I think we were the only ones who knew it. I was mad they didn't perform LeFlaur LeFlah Eshkoshka (though I will be listening to that and The Love song on repeat all day!!), but I lost it when Buckshot performed I Got You Opin.

Mr. Mann did a possible freestyle and ended by dropping the mic. I couldn't see him drop it, but I heard it. but I still wasn't sure, so I said "did he just drop the mic?" Then Kweli said "give it up for Sexual Chocolate!!" which answered my question. lol

I then came into work and am having a great work day! Clients are arriving on time for their appointments. I'm seeing them progress and have positivity in their lives. One (that I met with today) will be graduating my group tomorrow. I just feel good.

I'll have another entry about Kweli's response to people from the audience tweeting about the event's lateness and his new project. For now I just wanted to share my happiness about the cool show I saw and the positivity I'm feeling at the moment about my job. 'Cause I really did not expect to be so happy on 3 hours sleep. lol

spread love its the harlem way, hiphop
