WTF moment #41298-02

Jun 17, 2007 20:04

So I'm sitting here watching MADtv this morning. Something presenting itself as a commercial asks such probing questions like:

~Do you often feel like you can't stay in bed?
~Like you have to get up and move around?
~Do you get a tingling sensation in your legs?

...Well, you might have *cue dramatic music* Dun dun DUNNNNNN "Restless Legs Syndrome."

So I'm cracking up, right? But the "commercial" seems like it's taking itself seriously. Then I realized it was real!! It wasn't a MADtv spoof. Some asshole actually categorized "RLS" and people are prescribing drugs for this shit.

As always the side-effects are much worse than the symptoms of the "disease." Fatigue (including falling asleep while driving and other activities), dizziness, nausea, your penis/vagina may fall off, death... you know, standard shit.

I promise you--PROMISE YOU a pharmaceutical company employee made this shit up. You cannot convince me that some GlaxoSmithKline or Pfizer asshole didn't create this shit. And it makes sense. The best way to tap into the market of folks staying up late at night watching infomercials is to convince them they are sick and you have the cure.

Lemme attempt to save folks some money. Hey, brainiac. You don't have "Restless Legs Syndrome" you just need to stop drinking so much fuckin coffee, Red Bull and eating/drinking sugary products. Don't buy Requip, just drink more water, exercise more and turn off your fuckin tv.
