[NaDraWriMo] Some TF stuff
I felt like trying for Elita because, really, the girl's overlooked much too often.
Elita watches over Iacon. She isn't surveying her domain from the top of the tallest tower on the highest hill in the city, because standing there would just make her a target for Decepticon forces and she's never been one for drama anyway. Still, she watches over the remains of her home because someone has to and there are so few someones left.
The Towers of Iacon used to be dazzlingly beautiful, with spires that stretched up into the heavens. The Prime's rooms were located in the largest of them and Elita can remember the nights she used to spend there, playfully poking at Optimus and goading him into finishing his paperwork.
But in the end, towers were just targets for attack, and the tallest was the first to fall.
It is this idea that Elita keeps in mind when she and her femmes are desperately trying to keep themselves alive. When the Decepticons take over, she and her fellows hold fast to Cybertron, hiding themselves within her embrace far, far below the surface. Their enemies rule the air, but in their own way, the Autobots still rule the planet everywhere but for the very surface.
So now Elita watches her city using spy cams and an intelligence system that might have made the now-obsolete Imperial Guard nod with approval. She lives far under the ground, rather than high above it. She forsakes the honourable warfare of her ancestors for efficient and effective tactics. Her forces fight guerrilla wars, striking quickly and drawing back into the shadows before the Decepticons can counterattack. When they lose the energon distilleries, they steal what they need to live from their Decepticon foes.
Optimus would not have done things this way. Optimus would have been a shining light of honour and truth, smashing his way through the Decepticons. Optimus was hope. Optimus was redemption. Optimus abandoned them to go searching for the AllSpark vorns ago and it does not look like he will ever return and Elita is here.
And Elita can fight.
So she does.
