Best bedtime story ever.

On one hand, I feel like I'm just running through cliches and I know I should put in some descriptors to make this more than just dialogue, but I'm too happy about hearing banter patter through my head again to care.



"Psssst."

"nnnnr"

"Hey. Hey, you awake?"

"Mmn-Now I am."

"I can't sleep."

"And?"

"Tell me a story?"

"Seriously?"

"... no."

"You're pouting, aren't you?"

"... no."

"Stop lying. I can hear it."

"It's fine. I'll just roll over and go to sleep. Eventually."

"You know passive aggressive is a bad look on you, right?"

"..."

"Okay! Okay, I'll tell you a story. But after, you're gonna go to sleep and not huff at me all day tomorrow for being mean."

"Okay!"

"So. Once upon a time, there was a princess who looked just like you and she was beautiful and smart and perfect and she went on an adventure and beat up all the mean people, then she came home and everyone loved her. The end."

"I'm not a princess."

"Of course you're not. I said the princess looked like you. Now go to sleep."

"But you said she was beautiful."

"Look. If I say you're beautiful? You're beautiful."

"Oh."

"So be quiet and go to sleep, or I swear, I'm throwing you out the window."

"You wouldn't."

"Try me."

"Nope. You love me."

"Where'd you get that idea from?"

"You think I'm beautiful."

"Whatever. Go to sleep, already."

"I love you too."

"Mrrrrrf."
