On Ratings
I have to ask: what exactly is the point of ratings? I mean, I understand warning people about NSFW things or triggery things, but outside of that, there doesn't seem much point, to me, to rate anything. This might be because I equate ratings to the movie system and, let's face it, if The Dark Knight was rated PG-13, there is a heck of a lot that can be squished into that classification.
That said, would anyone be truly offended if I stopped using a "ratings" tag altogether and just warned for things that people might not want to read about?
