Ehhhhh...
My dog Storm's hind foot is really, really swollen, and he has this huge, gaping wound above the swelling that keeps getting bigger and bigger. I helped my mother change the bandages tonight, and the dog's getting some severe necrosis around the wound, which looks like a bunch of holes that keep opening up more and more.
My father suggested that it might be a spider bite, and the vet argued with him, but now that I've actually seen it, I'm kind of agreeing. We have hobo spiders here, and their bites cause skin necrosis, and it's possible that the swelling could be a reaction to the bite itself. My mom has a friend who was bit on the thigh a few years ago by one and had to get a nearly two-inch wide chunk of dead flesh removed because of it. The way it's looking with Storm, if the vet doesn't do something soon, he's going to lose his foot.
Ugh. Just seeing and smelling that made me sick. I really hope something gets done about this quick. I feel so bad for him.
