Anko said she was going along because she was concerned for her property, implying quite clearly that she had no interest whatsoever in their 'conspiracy theories'. Mostly, this was true.

So she took a place away from everyone, scaling the bare walls easily to sit above the group in the rafters, legs hanging down, back against a vertical beam, eyes sharp. As if to reinforce her point, she growled down at the growing number of people every so often, reminding them that they'd be signing away what little freedom they had left if they fucked anything up.

Roy had arrived as early as he could, as a friend of Maes', and keen on the subject at discussion. He spent a little time surveying the situation, but was more than a little intrigued about the figure up in the rafters - the one who'd been yelling at him just the other day. She looked cross still, and vaguely he wondered if that was just the way she looked generally. For a moment he grinned, and looked away, he was stupid - if she had a mouth on her and caught him looking.

Of course she saw him, looking up at her with some kind of stupid grin on his face, forcing her to snort derisively--

"Tch..." Like a predator she gaged him from above, sizing him up. "What's so fuckin' amusing, there, sweetheart?

Coolly, he moved to lean against the wall behind him, arms folded as he stared ahead, watching a few more people come into the room, wondering how many of them actually thought this was just about drinking. The expression didn't change when he heard the familiar voice, although it was much quieter than he remembered.

"A man can't find amusement in the simpler things in life?" He asked, still smirking.

Every nuance to his body language was tucked away in the back of her mind, from the way his eyes roved the room, to the way he put his back to the wall.

Practiced? Definitely.

Cocky? Fuckin' A.

Anko smirked right back, even though he couldn't see it.
"A man with eyes like yours?" she murmured loud enough for him to hear, fingers tracing the dull side of the knife she fiddled with. There was no hint in the tone of her voice to tell him whether or not this was a bad thing, and she preferred it that way.

His head tipped slightly to the side when he heard the voice again, a sure sign to anyone who might have been reading his body language, and something told him like someone like Anko would be, that he was actually listening and taking in the words.

"Ah, you got a good look at them then? Mn, If it's not the looks, it's the eyes that do it." He said, smirk in his voice.

Maes caught the two looking at each other and swaggered up, putting a half filled beer bottle into Roy's hand. Until they were in a safer place, Maes figured they wouldn't be drinking much till later. He draped an arm around Roy's shoulders and waved up to Anko. "Hay! You don't fall up there, got it? I see you two are getting along smashingly well." He grinned, knowing always how to diffuse a potential or non potential situation.

"You two haven't met yet, have you? Roy, up there is the belle of the ball, Anko." He called up a little again with that charming smile of his. "And this down here is my best bud from Cadets, Roy Mustang! You children learn to play nice, a'right?"

The laugh which escaped her mouth unbidden would have given her position away to anyone in the general vicinity. Oh, this man was delightful, wasn't he~? He surely amused himself twenty-four hours a day, she was positive of it.

It was then she added him to her list of people to stalk annoy and/or fuck with.

Her retort was cut off, however, at the appearance of Maes, who was apparently enjoying acting intoxicated despite his lack of drink. Whatever. Anko rolled her eyes at him and listened to his not-so-clever diffusion.

Though, the information -was- interesting to have. 'Best Friends', huh? What a nice coincidence for them, she mused, to have familiar people there with you. Too bad all her familiar people were either enemies or severely lacking in the 'friendly' department...

Without a sound she dropped down from her place above, landing in a low crouch to stand and stretch languidly, a not-so-wholesome smirk on her face as she eyed both men. "Roy, hm? Good to know." It was time to snoop.
