Sasuke wasn't sure how he'd been roped into parade duty. At least he wasn't dressed up and forced to march like a trained duck. No, instead, he was following Maes around with a clipboard, checking things off, wondering why he wasn't on the walls where it was quite and at least he only had to deal with zombies, and glaring death at anyone who tried to talk to him.

This was not his idea of fun and frivolity. It was noisy, chaotic, and people were asking really stupidly inane questions. The only upside to the whole ordeal was a current lack of Itachi.

Sasuke took a deep breath and trotted to catch up to Maes, checking off another item on the lists as he fell in step with his superior officer. "Everything seems in order so far." No, he wasn't going to address Maes as 'sir' even if he should. Rebellious little git refused to follow the rules as strictly as he should, and it was a wonder he even made it in military life with his attitude.

Maes nodded as he listed the final things that needed to be checked over. "Very good! Hopefully, then everything will go without a hitch." With a small sigh, he made a smart turn around to the front of the line. "Just five more minutes, and we'll be able to get this show on the road!" His green eyes shifted over to Sasuke, almost sparkling with excitement, but there was something else there clouding them. "You ready for this?"

Sasuke glanced at Maes, black eyes narrowing a moment as they met green, before he redirected his attention to the chaos of the parade set-up around them. "Looks like it should run smoothly." He agreed, tone neutral, as he scanned the pages on the clipboard one last time.

"Everything is set." Sasuke tucked his pen almost absently behind his ear and looked out at the gathered crowd. "I'm ready."

"Let's get this show on the road, then!" He lifted up an arm and swung it in a circle pattern over his head. "All right, front line! Let's go!" Maes grunted out something in Russian, most likely something that equated that the parade could warm up and start.

"I'm tellin' ya, Sasuke, this is going to be the hottest damn parade these people have ever seen! Look at the sharp uniforms! The shiny instruments!" He even knocked on the tire of a truck they walked past. "The giant machinery! And that's not even the half of it!"

Ed felt more than a little proud of the float his team had wound up with (though much of the design and actual making of the thing had been done only by him and Lina). It was a pretty damn impressive float, he thought. It loomed high over everyone's heads, looking something like a cross between a car and an ogre. It was There were spikes running down along its surface in neat rows; the larger ones were on top and the smaller ones ran closer to the bottom. They were in no way lethal, but they made the float look totally bad ass. The main body of it was coated in a thin layer of bright red paint; all of it save for the spike and certain parts of the demon face featured on the front.

It was an amazing float, dammit. Anyone who said otherwise clearly knew nothing about style.

He gave it a fond pat as he turned to look around. As much as he was looking forward to collecting his dinner prize, there were other things going on here. And he needed to talk to Hughes soon in order to get a decent idea of what was set and what more had to be

It was a damn awesome float is what it was. She and Ed had pulled out all the stops on it; the black spikes had been her idea. The demon face had been a collaboration by them both, and naturally they'd agreed easily on the red.

Lucky for her she landed a man with decent taste, she thought with a smug smile.

She leaned over against his shoulder, propped up by her elbow as she let herself be temporarily distracted from the awesomeness that was their float.

"You heard anything else from Hughes?"

Yorick stood in the crowd, eyes wide, and then muttered to the person next to him: "Geez. That is the ugliest float I have ever seen."

He looked over at her for a moment, grinning broadly when he caught that smug smile on her face. He turned back to look at it again only when her question was out, answering it without letting his smug expression falter. Turning somber out of nowhere while examining something he was oh-so-very proud of could potentially call unwanted attention to them. They couldn't risk anyone getting the slightest bit suspicious.

"Not yet. But he's around here somewhere, I'm sure we'll run into him and he'll update us." He nodded his head at the float. "Think it needs any final touch ups? Couldn't hurt our winning chances."

((XDDD oh Yorick. BUT YOU KNOW YOU LOVE IT, C'MON~))
