It had been days. The exact number of days, Sora had lost count of, but he was pretty sure it was still a very long time. But on this particular day, he was getting really tired and hungry in the midst of search when Roxas came up and pulled him away. He didn't mind being pulled away, really. Of all the people in the city, he trusted Roxas, and he was sure he had very good reason for bringing him to... wherever he was being brought to.
Sora looked over at his Other, tilting his head curiously to one side. "So... where are we going??"
"BOYS!" It didn't matter to Maes that he was still laid up with a bum leg. Or at least it didn't seem to matter. He was hobbling a bit with his cane waving about. "It's about time you found him.. I was just about to get ready to loose the dogs on you. Because if I didn't, Ed would have just eaten everything."
Sora blinked in confusion, just staring after Roxas for a moment as he went inside before following him. Maes had something for him?? His heart jumped a little in his chest. Maybe he'd heard something about Kairi! His eyes grew wide with hope as he looked over at Maes.
But then he was confused again, and he tilted his head a little. "Eaten...? What's going on?"
"Nope!" Maes proceeded to smash a home made party hat on Sora's head. He also went to do the same to Roxas too, before putting on on his own head. "Happy birthday there, kiddo!"
"My..." Sora's eyes grew even wider. It was his birthday?! How had he forgotten about it so easily??
He stared first at Roxas, then at Maes, then up at the hat on his head (going a little cross-eyed in the process)... And then gave a small, but genuine in its joy and gratitude, smile. "Thanks, guys. And- Happy Birthday to you too, Roxas!"
It felt strange to hear that, even though he'd been expecting it from someone. He'd been around for longer than a year, but never celebrated a birthday. "Y-yeah. Happy birthday, Sora."
Smiling again, he motioned him more inside. "C'mon, there's cake and stuff."

Maytag loved making an entrance. She burst open the apartment door with enough force to shake the building, then stood there, arms akimbo, letting those within enjoy her glorious silhouette in the doorframe.
"Guess who? Sorry I'm late, but I think I can more than make up for it. I brought... presents!"
Alphonse peeked out from behind Maytag, wondering what was happening already. After all the stress with Tomoe and Kenshin, he really didn't want to attend this. But this would serve as a distraction, and besides, Sora and Roxas were his friends.
In his hands were two small gifts, one for each boy. He really didn't know what to get them, so he hoped the small trinkets made from alchemy would suffice. "I ... hope I'm not too late." Al murmured quietly with the attempts at a small smile.

Maytag smiled and took the party hat from Maes hands. "Don't worry, I have just the place for this."
She reached down, around Al-- "You're in the way, short stuff"-- and lifted something that had been sitting next to the door in the hallway. It was a gramaphone.
"Here," she said, shoving it at Maes, "plug that in." She turned back to the hallway and beckoned "Hey hot stuff, I got you a party hat! Just like you wanted!"
She turned back to the room and smiled mischievously. "Wait 'til you see what she's going to do with it," May said, striding over give Sora and Roxas each a hug.
((Enter Teh Strippers, one for each of the birthday boys (Sora and, by virtue of being his clone, Roxas), to be NPCed freely by all unless a mod wants to step in and take over.))
Sora blinked in surprise at both May and Al, having not expected to see them there at all. It was certainly a surprise, but it was a pleasant one, and he couldn't help but let his smile broaden as May came over to hug him and even hugged back. This whole thing was a pleasant surprise, really!
Though he was a little confused by what Maytag was saying and the glimmer of mischief in her eyes. He blinked up at her before attempting to look back in the direction she'd beckoned, twisting and craning his neck a little get a good peek. "Who're you talking to?? What's-"
And then his eyes widened. And his cheeks started to turn a healthy shade of pink. "O-Oh... whoa..."
He hadn't expected to see Al, with whatever was going on with Tomoe, but Roxas had figured Maytag would show up. He just hadn't anticipated who she'd be bringing along.
The hug made him grin in spite of himself, but at the actual entrance of the girls his eyes went wide. Things almost always got embarrassing with Maytag's involvement, but this was new. "M-may? What-? They're not..."
He tried to exchange glances with Sora, who was already blushing, and then dropped his gaze, looking fixedly at his shoes. He wasn't sure how else was safe to react, when girls were about to start taking their clothes off. At least they weren't supposed to take them all off, right?
Sure, he'll play with the grammaphone for a bit! But when the strippers showed up with swaying hips and sultry smiles, all he could do was grin stupidly. "This... is a birthday present?"
He had to clean his glasses. They were steaming up.
There was a small grunt as he stepped back, looking down at the gramma phone before the girls passed by him. Of course, they both purred his name and ruffled his hair before getting to 'work.' Al, knowing who they were, was non-plussed by their arrival, nor their stripping.
His attention was brought to May for a moment. "A party hat?" And received the trinket before he went to the 'twins' to wish them a happy birthday.
Sora looked over at his Other, tilting his head curiously to one side. "So... where are we going??"

Reaching the end of the hallway, Roxas went ahead and pushed open the door to Maes' apartment without knocking. "Found him," he announced.
