And he's growing progressively more grumpy, as he's finding either books that aren't in English, or books that call for ingredients that he has no chance of getting

Probably the best place to go would be to people who've been here the longest, right? They had to cook with meager rations last winter and early spring~

It's really simple, too! Just toss everything in with water and let it all simmer until the sun goes down! Or up. Depends on the day, really.
