[Sheldon was wide awake and now trying to move around. His ribs, arms, back and legs still hurt but laying there doing nothing never helped the muscles much. He sat up slowly, using his right arm to support his ribs and to keep from moving around too quickly, he had to move. He shifted his position and pulled the blankets off his slight frame to ( Read more... )

-=With nothing else to do, he'd been reading over notes and medical texts, trying to keep an eye on this patient that he had supposedly taken care of. Sheldon Sands.=-

Ah--You should be back in bed! -=Definitely doesn't sound confident as he snaps a book shut, rising to get the guy.=-

I gotta move. I'm starting to stick to the bed.

[He smirked.]

Or become a part of it.

-=Was that okay? He didn't know.=-

Okay. Where are you going? -=he'll follow closely, just because.=-

I'm sticking around the first floor. I'm not climbing those stairs just yet. That's insane.

[He's one to talk.]

-=still following. Oh, why isn't someone else here who knows what to do here?=-

Are you sure that's safe? Weren't your injuries severe? -=he had at least read the notes that the other Alphonse wrote. It was eerie to see them in his own handwriting.=-

[He's not moving very fast and every step was excruciating. Most likely, he wouldn't make it to the door and may just turn back around.]

Yeah, they were...still are. My legs were aching and that's from not getting up and using them. I've been on that hard cell floor for nearly a week laying in prone and I have bruising in places where I shouldn't.

[His head turns to face Alphonse.]

A word of advice. Don't go to jail.

-=nods. That was a given.=-

It says here that you had head trauma as well. Are you having any headaches?

[Sheldon stiffens up. It was more than just the headaches he suffered from. His smile wiped clean.]

I'll go sit back down.

[Clear avoidance.]

-=Oh, he knows avoidance. And his frown deepens as he reaches out to offer support.=-

Are you okay?

-=How odd that Al is asking so unsure when he's usually very assertive with his patients.=-

[Sheldon turned his face to Al but now since he was using only his right eye, he had to listen to the tone to get the bigger picture. Sheldon's voice dropped to a whisper since the two were now in very close proximity.]

You know, something about you changed. You're....older. I guess there's no surprise that you wouldn't remember your own notes. Now I should be asking you if you're okay.

[A small smirk crept to his lips.]

If you have to know, I do have head trauma and it took out my left eye. Retinal detachment was what Trance said.

I'm not the Al you knew. And yes, I'm older. -=He looks a little lost.=- I don't know any of this medical information, but I'll learn as quickly as I can.

However...

-=His expression hardens slightly.=- I do know some about head traumas. You need to get back into bed, now.

[He sighed and threw up his hands.]

Okay, fine. I'll go back to bed.

[He moved slowly toward his bed and sat down, bringing the blanket over his shoulders before laying down.]

Happy?

[He shakes his head with a smile.]

You get off on this control thing, don't you? Sorry, I'm spoken for.

Only to a certain point. If it keeps you from getting hurt, all the better.

[Sheldon had to smile. It was the first time that he thought about his relationship as a means to keep him tame which worked.]

You win.
