[It was a couple of hours before the doors to the building had opened up, and one of the newest arrivals had been 'sent off' to the snow-covered city. Judging by the person that had pointed, and all but pushed Chii off on the way, the couple of hours were more frustrating than Chii's clueless smiling face let on. For about a minute of bouncily ( Read more... )

[Having wandered a bit from the junk yard, there's a robot looking rather like a giant horseshoe crab up and moving about, plowing through the snow with his pincer arms. He pauses on noticing her.]

Pardon me. Are you lost?

Chii..? [She pauses in the curiosities of the white stuff, first looking ahead, before around. Though she doesn't turn her body at this search. Upon seeing part of the source, her eyes trail up farther until she's on her back to see it fully. As it wasn't there before, spoke, but was nothing she had never seen, complete befuddlement came about. Small things were 'sitted,' but this was different. With such, the tone changed to reflect such.]

Chii?

[Orphu in turn isn't quite sure what to make of this behavior.]

"Chii"?

Well, you're broadening her horizons. :P ch0bi_chii May 2 2010, 13:44:54 UTC
[Though it does confirm that it was the one that spoke. Meaning that she learned that there are things that don't look like people, but do talk like them. She's quite happy to know that now.]

Chii!

[He lifts one of his arms to wave a little.]

I suppose you don't speak English.

[While not sure one what should be done, she does what she best at this point; imitation. In this case, waving back. Though she doesn't know the language, or context, she seems to be having fun. As if it were a game.]

Chiiiiiiii~

[Well, at least she doesn't seem intimidated. He makes a motion of rubbing two of his arms.]

Are you cold?

[Though copying, it seems that it's easier to link actions with small amount of words. Though she has no context, she'll repeat the action of rubbing both her arms, and try to use the same tone.]

Are you cold?

[He rumbles thoughtfully. Being a visual person is hard when you're blind. He tries indicating the snow.]

Cold.

[Someday, she may understand blindness. For now, she seems to wonder if you're 'sit'ting the white stuff. Sit isn't cold, so perhaps it's sitting the cold. That is where the logic is leading her. As if this were an understanding of now knowing what the white stuff is, she takes a handful of it again.]

Cold?

[Oh, no. Now he's teaching her the wrong words.]

Snow.

Chii...?

[She's trying to process it.]

Snow Cold?

Yes, that's right. [Hopefully the tone will convey something there. He then points at Chii and tries again.]

Cold?

Chi! [Aw, she likes praise. Though she hasn't figured out how cold is snow, or what is snow and how cold is it as well. When he points at her, it's close enough in trying to figure out how she's like the white stuff. Unless this entire time, pointing at things that weren't things, but other stuff, was cold instead of sit. Which would make the white stuff snow. So, she'll point at herself.]

Cold! [and then she points back, thinking she's got this.] Cold?

[He sways back and forth a bit in lieu of having a head to shake. He's not sure she's grasping this, but she doesn't seem to be shivering so maybe that's all right.]

No, I'm fine. But thank you for asking.

[She's getting, but also not getting, this. Still, it's more than what could be expected, when she has only a few words in her vocabulary, and the only 'right' one with meaning is snow. Which means she'll point off towards a building.]

Cold?
