*The intercom hisses on and for a full three minutes, there's nothing on the air. Finally, a voice comes online, not directed into the mic at first.*

This is Officer Vahn, head of the Department of Human Resources Division. Today is August 18, 1300 hours.
There are several announcements that need to be addressed.
*There's a rustling of papers before Elena continues.*
The Solanum activities are high. All Wall and City patrols are scheduled double shifts until further notice. Please report to your C.O.'s for further instructions.
On September 15th, all persons aged sixteen years or who will be sixteen by December first are eligible to take the exit-out exams. Upon successful completion of the exams, you will have graduated from the school courses and will not be required to attend classes for the following year, which will begin again December first. Additional tutoring courses will be available Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons.
Also on September 15th, there will be a special meeting for those persons who wish to apply for unassisted living. What this means is that eligible persons currently living in government funded facilities will be able to apply for alternate housing. Additional apartments have been prepared in District One should any Gate Walkers feel they are qualified. *smug chuckle there* This will be an integration project, so apartments will have both native and non-native tenants. There will be applications available on September first during Rations Allocation. You must be present in order to obtain a form.
And speaking of present...If you feel that our gracious hospitality is not to your liking, you are more than welcome to apply for a job. There is a listing located at the edge of District four for taken and available positions.
Rations will be held from 1400 hours to 2100 hours to accomodate shift change. Any and all additional questions will be handled by my assistant, Lt. Maes Hughes.
