The sign says this is the Midgard building... Apartment Five. [takes a deep breath and enters the building, heading toward #5]

[looks up at Roxas]

Oh... Yes. I suppose I am. [gestures to the apartment] Do you live here...?

[coolerthansora]

Yeah. *hesitates, then holds out a hand* I'm Roxas.

[star_astray]

[stares at the offered hand, then takes it with his own, bowing slightly in greeting] Kira Izuru. Good to meet you.

[coolerthansora]

*nods* Right. Good to meet you.

*moves to kind of show him inside* So how much d'you know about this place?

[star_astray]

[straightens and follows him inside, looking around]

Absolutely nothing, I'm afraid.

[coolerthansora]

Oh. *scratches his head* Well. This- place's called Veles, and it's somewhere in Russia. Outside the wall's mostly zombies, inside.. the locals don't like us too much.

[listens in silence, then compulsively straightens his new uniform]

Us? They didn't tell me much of anything. There are others like me... you...

Everyone in these apartments came through the Gate...

I'm from- a place called Twilight Town. You probably don't know it.

[shakes his head]

No, I've never heard of it.

[shifts awkwardly, alternating between looking at the floor and around the apartment]

And the locals don't like people like... us.

[back up to Roxas]

What is a zom... zombie?

They're, um, undead. There's some kind of virus here that- made them.

[star_astray]

O-oh. Undead.

I'm sorry. I don't know anything.

[coolerthansora]

It's okay. Everybody's- pretty clueless at first.

That's... a small relief.

[looks around again]

It isn't just us living here, is it?

[coolerthansora]

*shakes his head* Yukino and Tomoe live here, too. There used to be others, but... *shrugs* People disappear like they come, sometimes.

Oh... They just... disappear? Or there's a way to get back through the gate?
