[When he enters her office, the guards will have moved away and allowed them privacy. A large dog made out of bones rests at her feet, curled and sleeping. She motions him over, standing.]

Thank you. [He takes a seat, leaning forward slightly to let his elbows rest on his thighs, just like a schoolboy ready to listen.

As you well know, that Tower is the one keeping us here. By my orders, we are to destroy it in order to revive the land and free us all from its binding restrictions. Thus it has been for a great, long time.

[She half-smiles sardonically.]

Of course, how does one do that, if there are no powers to draw from? It's been a useless endeavor for years, until we discovered a way to strengthen those in this compound. [A pause.] A shame it couldn't be a nicer facility, though.
