so for the few of u who will see this i would like you all to kno that today was a great day.
"why?" you may ask, well i will tell u. unfortunately most of u are relatively ignorant of the worldwide month long holiday known as the World Cup other than the fact that the US has been beaten. well today was a semi-final match between Italy and host nation Germany. for 90 minutes both teams pushed back and forth and had good opportunities to score but superb goalkeeping by both German keeper Lehmen and Italian keeper Buffon kept the score tied at 0-0. so the match went on to overtime w/o Golden Goal, meaning that the first team to score doesnt win automatically. so for another 30 minutes both teams managed to gather up reserves of energy and somehow get shots on goal but still the goalies kept the score at 0-0. it wasnt until the last 2 minutes of the overtime period before the game would be decided by penalty kicks that someone scored. Italy made a final effort to stop the game from going to PKs where they would most likely lose by pushing their way to the goal. an italian midfielder's view of the goal is blocked by 2 german defenders so he makes a no look pass to fellow midfielder Grosso who spins around and whips the ball into the top right corner to get pass Lehmen and put Italy up 1-0.
why should this make me so happy u ask. well it is because those dirty germans eliminated my favorite team in Argentina via foul play. early in the second half German strike Klose took out our main keeper Abondanzierie w/ a knee to his kidney. since in soccer u only get 3 subs this screwed our subbing line up since u almost never have to sub out ur keeper. because of this, a racist german ref, and questionable subbing by the coach none of the Argentine stars were out on the field during the overtime period which ended in 1-1 and had to be decided by PKs. so w/ our main keeper out, he was also known for bieng good at blocking PKs, and not having any of our stars able to kick AND Lehmen being one of the best goalies in the tournament..... Argentina lost in PKs 4-2.
so today i have had my revenge and now all is well. thank you all for listening and i hope that next world cup u wont be so ignorant as to not watch it.
