Mothers* and their children

A mother should try to provide her children with insight into the important things in life in order to make their lives as happy and fulfilling as possible.
She should teach them to be kind and generous toward others,
To be fair -treating everyone equally,
To respect and learn from their elders,
To understand, if not respect differences,
To appreciate beauty and variety,
To trust in their intelligence,
To realize that love is the best emotion,
To express their feelings openly and honest at all times,
To know themselves well,
To understand their strong and weak points,
To accept criticism,
To learn from their mistakes,
To be honest and forthright at all times,
To have many interests to pursue,
To create many goals to follow,
And to work hard to reach them,
To incorporate all these virtues in a strong set of beliefs that will not waiver when tested,
And to laugh and enjoy life.
So to my kids,
If I’ve provided you with an insight into most of these things, then I am succeeding as a mother in what I’ve hoped to accomplish in raising you. If any of these things slip by, I have a feeling that you will know them anyway.
I am proud to be your mom. I will continue to support everything you are and everything you do. I hope you know that I’m always here for you. And I will always love you.
*This is only worded by a maternal point of view because I am a mother. I firmly believe fathers can teach just as mothers can. I have first hand knowledge of that.
