Carlos J. Monteiro
MILFORD - Carlos J. Monteiro, 67, of Milford, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, in Milford Regional Medical Center.
He was the husband of Mariana (Machado) Monteiro for 44 years.
He was born in Soutelo, Portugal, the son of the late Joao and Gloria (Fernandes) Monteiro, and came to Milford in 1979.
Mr. Monteiro was employed for many years as a landscaper in the Milford area, retiring in 2001.
He was a member of the Milford Portuguese Club.
Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Joao E. Monteiro of Milford; two daughters, Maria Edite Santo and Maria Monteiro of Milford; five brothers, Louis Monteiro and Manuel Monteiro of Milford, Augusto Monteiro of France, and Jose Monteiro and Antonio Monteiro of Portugal; three sisters, Deolinda Monteiro of Virginia and Maria Monteiro and Alda Monteiro of Portugal; and six grandchildren.
He was also the brother of the late Celina Lage.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, at 9 a.m. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home (consigliruggeriofuneralhome.com), 46 Water St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church on Winter Street. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery on Cedar Street.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m.
