Writer's Block: Wedding bells are ringing
What was the last wedding you went to? Were you in the wedding?
my brother's, a year and a half ago in dubai. it was the first wedding i had been to in dubai. him and his bride decided to make it a simple event. just me, my sister, our respective families and a few of our friends. me and my sister stood in as primary sponsors. my daughters were secondary sponsors. the two youngest boys were ring bearers. they managed to get a filipino priest so it was an even better service. it was held in the main hall of the church at 4 in the afternoon. it was relatively quiet but a lot of the mass-goers for the 5.30 service started coming in so we had a little audience in the end.
it was a good day. nothing extravagant at all. just family and friends witnessing the union in matrimony of two people who almost didn't end up together but were given a second chance. now, almost 2 years into married life and i can't help but smile when i realise my little brother has grown up.
