Well I had my gallbladder out on Tuesday. It went smoothly and I was back home in no time, crashed out on the sofa.
Mom stayed until today helping with Persephone. We did a fair amount of running around. Yesterday we hit the vet (mom had to bring eight kittens with her) with a dying kitten. It was the first time I'd seen my vet since before evacuation. 16 of his clients died in the levee failures. One left a message written in lipstick on a wall before she drowned. The message was to Dr. Grisoli, telling him what she wanted done with her pets. The water was rising and she knew she was going to die. Poor Dr. Grisoli has to live with that.
After the vet (the kitten died this morning), we went to the quarter and did a LOT more walking around than I should have. I was pretty wiped out today.
Being a major idiot, after mom left and while Joe was at work, I lifted Persephone twice. I'm not supposed to lift her for another 10 days. I'm feeling it, but don't think I ripped any sutures.
It's amazing how good I've felt, so soon after having it out! I haven't even taken a vicoden today!
In other news, I got a strange email from LiveJournal, warning that I had to delete an old entry. Apparently offering to sell part of my liver is against LJ rules. Someone reported the entry to LJ. How strange. Not that anybody wants it at the moment, as my stony gallbladder spat so much bile back onto the thing that it's probably going to be a month before it's healed itself.
