omg. camp rocks my life. it was so amazing. i can't even begin to explain to you all. i can try, but you'd think i was insane. this week's session included Belle suffering from in-between syndrome and Roscoe redoing my entire schedule, finding out Wednesday night that there is a lice infestation, bagging up TONS of lice laundry, going to the laundromat at 12:34am wed night and doing laundry nonstop until 7:15, eating mcdonald's twice during that period of time, getting back to camp at 7:30 and laying down on a mat on the Happening House floor with no blankies or pillows at 8:00, being given a sleeping bag at 8:15, waking up at 9:30 unable to sleep anymore, bagging up more laundry, starting that laundry, being present at lunch but not having any idea what was going on. laying down for 30 min in hap house before helping roscoe set up for all camp. manning the tarp-water-slide at all camp. which involved catching girls going down a hill at high speeds. in the soapy mud. being required to stay for dinner. learning a lot about wick, who is one of the most awesome people ever :). going to the hap house to sleep until campfire. being ordered by my direct supervisor not to go to campfire, but to go back to sleep. waking up the next morning, after a very fitful night of sleep and helping my unit pack up. going through campers-leave procedures. being asked to stay for work-list and meeting. we had our heads mayonnaised (while a very good conditioner, it smells so gross. especially when the heat starts melting it lolol) and had a staff meeting where i got praised twice :). took a shower and started saying goodbyes to wick, then got joined by swannie and flikk. stopped talking to them an hour and 45 minutes later, grabbed my stuff out of the hap house and said goodbye to everyone in there, had wick drive me to my van, came home.
and here's the best part of it all. roscoe got my contact info, and if she gets the ok from coyote, she's going to ask me to come back after gsa :-D. so excited!
i have finally found the place where i feel at home. and it is the most amazing place ever, with such an encouraging family of staff, who are there to support you and help you out. not to mention, they are TONS of fun to be around. where else would i have laughed so hard at being called a baghead??? hahaha.
i'm gonna go make some hemp bracelets.
girl scout camp rocks my LIFE.
