You know, if you really listen to the lyrics of Barlow Girl's "Never Alone", they're actually kind of depressing. They're just crying out, and they need him, but he didn't answer, and they can't feel him there, so they just have to stick to the knowledge they have in their head, that he is there, even though it doesn't seem like it.
I waited for you today
But you didn't show
No no no
I needed You today
So where did You go?
You told me to call
Said You'd be there
And though I haven't seen You
Are You still there?
It's a battle so many Christians battle with- is God really there? I dunno. I was just listening to that song and that's something that's always struck me whenever I listen to it.
It also made me kinda want to cry, because I heard them play it live at Loucon, and I remember how happy and solid I was in my walk with the Lord at that point in my life. I kind of miss it sometimes... You think if I called one of those hotlines (i.e. 1-888-Need-Him), they'd hang up on me, crossing themselves multiple times to rid themselves of me??? I wouldn't blame them if they did...
Sorry... this has been kind of a depressing entry... and today was actually a pretty good day.
