I'm going to type up the next installment in a bit..just wanted to post this first.

I'm gonna hurt in a few weeks for what I did over the past two days and am going to further in a week or so...

Here's the story.

For a few weeks now I've been giving thought to finding something like a Goodwill or Salvation Army store..wanted to get, amongst other things, a decent sports coat, and I didn't want to spend all that much on it. Well, yesterday (Friday) was payday...so when I got off, I went to the mall to do some shopping for mother's day. Ended up getting three way too expensive cat ornaments. Anyway, before I did that, I decided to pop in on JCPenny to see what kind of deals they had - 50% off pretty much everything. I got excited. So I looked around a bit, and a Nigerian by the name of Samuel helped me out eventually. I picked out a dark blue/grey slightly pinstriped coat, applied for and got a JCP credit card (800 limit 4tw!) and got the coat. Just under a hundred dollars.
So I get it home and try it on. And notice something that I didn't see in the store, and the salesman must have conveniently forgotten to point out - there was a vent on the coat. Meaning tails. It was also a little tight across the back of the shoulders, but that was okay 'cuz I'm planning on losing quite a bit of weight....but that meant that the coat, which was slightly too long in the body...it fit to my back. I have a hollow back. The vent was pulled up at the zenith. And that means?

I looked like I had a fucking tail.

So I took it back today, planning on finding something similar that didn't make me look like a degenerate hobo...any more than I do normally, that is.

So I meet a true clothier...his business card? He's not a salesman. He's a "Wardrobe Consultant/Tailor". He was also rather flamboyantly gay. And it was great. Any guys who read this...if you've never had a professional gay man help you find clothes? Do so the next time you go shopping. He found me a suit jacket, shirt, tie, slacks, and a belt that fit just amazingly well..AND cut(*snigger*) me a discount on the alteration for the pants - they were a little long, but also double-cuffed, so I'm getting them shortened and re-cuffed. Normally it's 20 for that, he charged me 5.

I. Am. Happy.

It's been entirely too long since I bought decent clothes, and even longer since I've had a reason to wear them regularly...and with a new thing that's going on at work as an incentive for the rest of my front end staff, well, it should be rather frequently that I get to wear them.

In a while, probably next weekend, I'm going to go back and pick up a couple more shirts/ties, and take a look at the dress shoes they have..'cuz I desperately need a new pair of casual dress shoes. My last ones are in a compost heap somewhere 'cuz they got worn out completely.

And over the course of the next few months and years, as I lose more weight, I'll be buying more nifty stuff. Couple more suit jackets, a few true sports coats, maybe a few waistcoats(vests) and a bunches of dress shirts...as well as a few less-formal-but-still-good shirts and slacks...I need to stop dressing like a slob.

I also need to get my hair cut again...I'm starting to look like a scarecrow. A scarecrow that sleeps under bridges.

Other than that...nothing really is going on. Just work and laziness and boredom and tired...Oh! I did get an mp3 player finally...a Centon. One gig...one of the usb players. Almost full, have gone through three batteries, and I got it on Wednesday. I listen to a lot of my music a lot more now.

Uh...ah. The way things are going, it looks like we'll be putting our house off market for a while and then put it back up again in a few months. If anyone knows someone who's trying to find a place in Jacksonville...let 'em know about me, 'cuz we're selling! If you wanna take a peek, just let me know and I can give you the current realtor website with the pictures and stuff.
If we do go off market, and are here for a while longer, I want to see about making a trip to BR/Laff/NO sometime around late June/early July. And if we're going to be here during renfest again...I'm taking vacation time. No way am I missing it again.

That's it for now...depending on how tired I get, I'll either type the next installment tonight or do it tomorrow. As far as that goes, once I type this one up it's going to take me a while to write any more for it...I'm kind of burning out. Not on ideas, just words. I know exactly what I want him doing and when, but the problem is getting him there, an I don't want to try skipping around, 'cuz then I'd end up getting lost when I tried to put it all together later.

Bye for now.

No, really, get lost.
