Were you aware that this famous Jack Nicholson line in The Shining was unscripted? I wasn't, though this is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time. Listverse clued me in with their "15 Great Scenes That Were Unscripted" post last week. Nicholson's improvised line is at #6. Fascinating.

Check out this interesting list... do you see any of your favorite scenes there? Sir Anthony's immortalized fava beans and chianti line (with hissss) surprised me as well, but I can certainly see why they kept it--the look on Jody Foster's face was priceless. He truly creeped her the hell out.

Full Metal Jacket's R. Lee Ermey does not surprise me. This Air Force brat can tell you--real drill sergeants are bona fide Improv on legs.  And nobody does it better.
