Friends Only!

Friends Only.
READ BELOW & COMMENT TO BE ADDED.

This journal is friends only because I am a pretty private person (even if my entries don't contain lethal information of any sort), and it has been in this mode from the very beginning.

WHAT I POST IN THIS JOURNAL

I write what I want to write about. I don't write this journal for other people. Sure, I keep my flist in mind when I post, but ultimately I write about the things I find interesting and thus may interest my flist in the end. I share my own thoughts and experiences with others but first and foremost, they are for myself.

I post about my daily life -- interesting experiences, situations worth noting, and other similar topics about a 20-something student's life.

I post about my fandoms, though not as obsessively as I used to. Current fandoms tend to be showcased in my icons and layouts, so you'd get a pretty basic idea just by snooping around my userpics, my journal and my userinfo. Some of my fandoms change quickly, while others last forever.

I post pictures. Not as much as I'd like to, but they do appear. However, I almost always use an LJ-cut to spare layouts from becoming massacred as a result.

I do post about my friends and the people I know, often by name. So there may be posts where you'll read a name and not know who I'm talking about, but I do try to explain the role of said person in my posts.

I do not post quizzes and polls on a regular basis. In fact, I will rarely post them. I find quiz results bulky, ugly and ultimately useless. That is not to say you're not allowed to post them on your own journal, however just know that I won't have many of those on mine. I will post the occasional meme if I find it interesting enough.

I don't post very often. There are times when I can, and may; but for the most part I'm not a very avid poster. My posts can appear every other day or a couple times a week. Often, I'll have only a few posts a month. I do, however, read my lj on a daily basis, so rest assured I will read your posts.

I edit my posts on a whim if I re-read and find the grammar is sucking, or if I have something further to add. I don't like posting one-liner posts, so if it's a small "oh yeah!" thought up within the same day then I'll probably tack it on the end of my most recent post. So don't be alarmed if you see some differences in posts after you've read them.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO FRIEND ME...

You're most definitely welcome to. I'm always very happy to meet new people over LJ. It makes the community that much more fun. Just add me first. Leave a comment here so I know you've added me or else it's likely I won't add you until I check my userinfo.

Please--and this is more of a request than a rule--don't add me if you're going to delete me after a week or two. I don't do friend-trials; they're a waste of my time. Only add me if you seriously want to get to know me, not to expand your f-list.

Please use LJ-cuts for large images (about 300x300 px) and quiz results. It's common etiquette, and it really makes LJ a much happier place.

I encourage you to leave comments whenever you see fit. There is no such thing as a stupid comment. You don't have to feel obligated to make one but it's nice to know you read my journal. Also, let it be known that I'm prone to plaguing your LJ with insignificant comments on occasion. It also allows us to get to know each other further. However, don't expect me to comment on every one of your entries. I do read them, but often I have no idea how to respond.

Feel free to add me to your instant-messaging service (AIM, MSN); just check my userinfo for details. Just be aware that I'm really terrible at small-talk and I may not be a barrel of fun to talk to.

No stealing/taking/borrowing any graphics on my journal without my permission. If I do have icons up for grabs on my journal, I'd appreciate it if you would credit me in your userpic keywords.

Please keep an open mind. I'm not inclined on letting biggoted homophobes, flamers, racists, religiously controlling, troll-ish or narrow-minded people read my lj, and I'm not really interested in reading theirs. Also, please respect my fandom-ships, whatever they may be; in the same way I will most definitely respect yours.

As I made note earlier, I don't exercise the seasonal friends-cut policy that makes you feel like you're back in gym class. Trust me; I hate them just as much as you do. So once you're on my flist, you're likely there until the end of the Internets.
