Working has been going on, eh. Which is good. Hurrah for money.
John & I are finally getting cable up in this joint on Thursday. For the first month we get every channel Time Warner offers. T - 2 days & counting until no life. On the flipside, T - 2 days & counting until more than 4 channels.
Last night I was looking forward to coming home, working out, taking a shower, eating dinner, watching a movie with my Johnny boy & then going to bed at a decent hour. No sir, that did not happen. At 5:45 John calls me after his class & says, "I won't be home right away. I've got to go do some things at the Lantern." Ok, no biggie. At 6:30 I am all sweaty & gross & a-working it out when John calls again. He is completely out of breath. I ask what's wrong. "Grab one of my hockey jerseys & your Blue Jackets hoodie & meet me in the parking lot in 15 minutes. I'm taking you to the game."

He was disappointed that we couldn't make it to opening night on Friday, so he was planning to surprise me with tickets last night. And surprise me he did! It's not often I am rendered speechless, especially by him. He was all out of breath on the phone from running around downtown from his car to the arena & back. We had a marvelous time. Marvelous. And the Jackets won 5-1. 5-1! If I hadn't have been there, I wouldn't believe it. We sat by the cutest little 5-year-old boy who was giving his dad an earful the whole time. "Dad, there's 6 Coyotes on the ice & only 5 Blue Jackets. That's bad, Dad."
On the other hand, we also sat in front of the biggest idiot EVER. EVER! He was some retarded frat boy who was trying to show an out-of-town buddy a good time. He spent half the first period talking about how great his frat is & how it's such "bullshit" they didn't get Fraternity of the Year. I didn't know there was such a thing. Some other gems from this guy's mouth include: "Hockey is the most violent sport ever," "The goalie is banging his stick on the ice to let all the players know that the puck is getting close to him," "Anson Carter is the one & only black guy in the league," & "How does it feel to spend Columbus Day in the city where it matters the most?" *BRAIN 'SPLODEY!!* He also kept calling Adam Foote "Larry." It was really annoying, but John & I will likely call him "Larry" from here on out just for hilarity's sake. And his friend was soooooo uninterested in anything Fratty McFratfrat had to say, it was painful to have to hear. He would just talk & talk & talk & once in a while the poor guy would interject a half-hearted "Uh-huh," "Oh, wow," or "Mmm." It really was painful.
At any rate, it was all very worth it & I love my Johnny very, very, very much.

I got to go to the OSU vs. BG game on Saturday, as the picture illustrates. John is in a group with Josh, Andy, & Anthony. Josh offered me his ticket because he said he had too much schoolwork to do & it was probably better for him not to go. I had an awesome time, but I couldn't just take the ticket for nothing. Tomorrow he is coming over for dinner. It's the very least I can do. John left halfway through the slaughtering of the Falcons to go to work. Anthony, Andy, & I got some groceries & went back to Anthony's place for dinner which actually ended up being like breakfast. We made pancakes, hash browns, eggs, & sausage. Let me tell you, that all goes wonderfully with a pint of Strongbow. YUM!
My sister was here last week. We had fun. I worked a lot, but I think she just liked not having to be home for a change. Two Sundays ago John, Anthony, & I went to my parents' to watch the Bengals game & carve pumpkins. It was a fantastic day. Fantastic. I made my first ever pasta salad & it was amazing. My pumpkin is sitting on Anthony's porch & Anthony carved his for Andy. John just yelled at the TV & ate with my dad. I brought my sister back here with us at the end of the night & took her back Thursday.
Sleep is imminent.
