Chapter 3
"Alright, let's get a few more hours of driving. Don't fall asleep on me again!" Ryan already knew that Jasmine was going to doze off, he just wanted to see if it was possible. The chips were picked up and thrown away. "Ladies and gentlemen, the temperature at the moment is twenty-four degrees Celcius. Clear skies with winds up to fifteen kilometres per hour. Temperatures in Sarasota, Florida are eighty to eighty-eight degrees Fahrenheit with clouds moving along to the East. Estimated time of travel is one day and two hours." imitated Ryan. Jasmine wound up a slap and hit him. "Let's go already!" she laughed impatiently. Sarasota seemed so far away. Afterall, the couple have only driven a few hundred miles. Their plan was to drive a day, hit the hay at sundown, and finish off the remaining miles of the trip.
Ontario skies bored Ryan to death. He looked at the clock. 12:34 PM was the time, and he wondered how long the trip would last. 56 Willow Drive was their destination, and Samantha Shire was their objective. Jasmine grew up with a family friend during her childhood and teenage years. Since she was the only female in her family other than her mother, she needed a sister, a bestfriend she could rely on. That's where Samantha played her part. Jasmine saw her as the person she could tell everything to. The deepest secret of all secrets were told between these two without any hesitation. These two grew up in Toronto, attending every school together until the last year of secondary school, Samantha had to move to Florida because of her father's promotion. The seperation of the two caused chaos for both of the families. After long goodbyes were said, a friendship was ended, and Samantha moved to Sarasota. Jasmine still kept in touch, telling her about University and her current events. Jasmine decided to make Samantha the maid of honour, since she wouldn't be able to find a better person to choose.
"Ryan.. where are we?" Jasmine asked. Ryan gave her a look of disappointment. "We're only at Pennsylvania. I think we're kinda behind schedule. Stay awake, I need someone to talk to." Ryan explained. An hour and a half passed by as the two continued with their conversation. Jasmine and Ryan was the kind of couple that you could never get tired of. Whenever communication exchanged between the two, they went on until they were interrupted.
"What do you think of.. Johnny Dep and his new movie?" Ryan asked. "Ew! He's old, too old. I suppose his movie was okay, but I think we would suit that movie better." Jasmine answered. "Haha, you're crazy. We can't even act. Well, I can. I don't know about you." Ryan laughed. Another slap was wound and Ryan was hit once again. Next Exit 5 miles. A list of fast food restaurants were on the sign and in a split second Jasmine screamed. "Oooh! Wendy's!" The couple parked their car and ate a late lunch.
Chapter 4
"Oh my Lord, Jasmine! Hurry the hell up! Time's a wastin'." Ryan laughed at his choice of words. Anger sometimes portrayed the couple. Jasmine is a late individual, along with Ryan, but they always got around that complication. The two hopped into their car as they prepared for the next hour or so to come until they had to pack it in. "Wait, wait. Ryan I think there's something wrong." Jasmine noticed. "What? Is it the tires? Because I felt a difference in them earlier, and I really need to replace them." Ryan guessed. A kiss was thrown at Ryan's lips. Jasmine smiled and told Ryan to start driving. Ryan had a face of confusion, but he knew he loved how Jasmine showed her ways of love for him. He kissed her back.
"What should I say to Miss Shire? I haven't talked to her since.. a month ago. How are we gonna surprise her?" Jasmine worried. She thought of a number of ways of how they were going to surprise Samantha. Ryan nodded for each proposal as he focused more on the highway. "What if she's not there? What if she's not as surprised as we thought she would be?" Jasmine continued. Ryan noticed how he didn't answer back. "Why don't we just.. ring her doorbell, and wait for her to open it?" "Sounds good" Jasmine laughed.
The border of Virginia rushed by as Ryan passed by. Traffic was meteocre, but once they got on the express lane, they fled down the highway. Virginia was a mountainous state. Every now and then Jasmine tapped Ryan on the shoulder, telling him to look out the window at the beautiful views. Ryan smiled at her. Jasmined smiled back. "You know what, Jasmine?" Ryan asked. "What?" "Seven more months until our wedding." Ryan said as he tended to smile a little. Jasmine said, "I love you."
The sun was starting to set, as they headed for the next four exits. Ryan was starting to get drowsy, but he knew that a couple more miles were ahead. Jasmine was already asleep. 85 Miles per hour the signed said. Ryan was well over eighty; he wanted to hurry and check into a motel because they were both tired. He signaled for the last exit sluggishly, and turned right for the exit. He was still aware of what was going on as he neared the exit. He looked over at Jasmine, and everything felt distorted.
Metal flew into the air as the car rolled a numerous amount of times. Ryan's eyes were still opened as he saw his soon-to-be wife bleed with scratches on her face. Half of the car was bent, and the roof flattened the driver and passenger seat. Visions of the horizon, spinning replayed in Ryan's head until he fell unconsious. Flames rose at the back of the car. Glass and debris surrounded the scene of the crash. The driver of the semi truck stepped out and looked at the tragedy. Guilt rushed into the 18 wheel driver. He ran to the car and found two bodies covered with blood trapped inside a burning vehicle. A wedding left uncompleted.
